NAPE (National Association of Professional Environmentalists)
NAPE was formed in 1997 in Uganda, East Africa, as a registered indigenous environmental non-governmental organization (NGO). NAPE works on a number of environmental issues with specific focus on undertaking lobbying and advocacy for sustainable use of natural resources in the areas of water and energy, as well as for the sustainable future of Uganda communities.
With a mandate to build sustainability by promoting sustainable, and equitable management of natural resources, NAPE’s vision is of a Ugandan society that effectively participates in the sustainable management of natural resources. NAPE’s mission is to be a national environmental organisation that lobbies and advocates for the sustainable management of natural resources for the benefit of all.
NAPE is a membership organization whose membership is drawn from individuals as well as institutions.
