ETHIOSCOP was established in 2007 to promote consumer rights and responsibilities around the sustainable, local production and consumption of food. They work with government institutions and organizations to ensure food safety, security and sovereignty for Ethiopians.  They promote organic farming practices which protect the environment and Ethiopia's rich biodiversity.  ETHIOSCOP has been working hard to develop consumer protection law and policy for Ethiopia through which GMOs and agro-fuels would be legally challenged.
